New Music

I just spent the past hour on Youtube and I gotta tell you, Hip Hop has gone crazy!! I never thought being weird on purpose was the new hype and songs about violent acts towards women were cool. I'm not knocking these new cats or trying to hate, but for someone who grew up in the culture its confusing. No content and half ass production are taking over nowadays!!! What's funny to me, is if you speak out against this type of music you're considered old or a hater. Wrong!!!! To me if you speak out you love this music and you love what it stands for! I've been doing this for most of my life and I've never had to be something I'm not to get the respect I deserve!! Remember that!!!

Local Support!!!!

The word local means: Something resourceful and remote
The word support means: to assist, to help
It seems as of late those two words are unheard of. This is not a rant or me being angry, this is me giving people a little insight on what's going on. I have lived in Wilmington NC for about 13 years now and I still can't understand the lack of local support. Its funny when I'm out and someone drunk out of their mind is like "Jaxx when is your next show?" or "Sorry!! I didn't know about your show". I find that hard to believe, especially with all of the social networking people do these days. I honestly think people just don't really care anymore about the local music scene! Granted I have played here a lot but that was then. Now I'm mostly doing road shows as much as possible but its not the same. We can pack out a small club in Vermont, New York,or even on the West Coast but you can't get love in your own town. Wow!!! That's crazy!!!
Your own friends don't even come out!! People that know what you do still have a problem with a 5 dollar cover!! You're joking right? What about the free shows, the benefits we've done, or just the time we've gave to the local scene!!! Not just me but the other artist in town!! I know times are hard and money is tight but c'mon people. One less crown and coke could cover the price to get in the show!!! Once again this is not anger or hate just truth!!! Film at eleven

Howdy folks!!!! I know its been a minute see we last spoke but I've been on the road. Mac and I set sail on another adventure, but this time everything has been really smooth!!!! If anybody has ever toured before you know exactly what I mean. Broken promises and bs from promoters is what usually comes with the road shows. This time great look everyone!!!!
