Holiday Season

Yes!!! We are once again caught up in the craziness of the season. The season for us to go out and blow money on things we can't afford. So make sure before you got out on your quest on shopping sprees, this year you check for deals. Go online, check the paper etc. And remember there's always January too. My mom use to wait until the new year when the sales would really go down. You're probably like "Why is he talking about this?" I'm just like you, looking for deals and buying gifts!!! underdog

A lot of people ask me "jaxx, how do you feel about being an underdog?"
I say I'm fine with that and always have been. The stress of being "that dude" scares the hell out of me. I've been doing music for years and been called the underdog and I embrace it. Anybody who goes thru the process like I have knows the deal. I love the fact I can take risk and be who I am when it comes to my music. Being an underground artist isn't all bad for me its controlling my own destiny!!! Film at eleven

feeling defeated

We often feel defeated at times no matter what it is. Work, Sports or just everyday life. There have been many times in my life I wanted to throw in the towel. I guess what I'm trying to say is feeling defeated is normal. Just don't get defeated. Don't be a quitter on anything!! Never say "I can't". Push yourself until you can't push anymore!!! You owe that to yourself and those who care about you. Remember life is hard but not fighting for yourself is harder on you in the long run!!! film at eleven

Getting older

well its my birthday today and I don't feel any different. Actually I feel like I'm getting better with time but I'm started to realize that getting older is pretty cool. Guess I'm lucky because I don't look or feel my age and I try to stay as active as I can. Don't run from your age accept it with open arms and take care of yourself. Film at eleven!!

progress

For some of us progress a great thing "Right?" Did you ever think you would be in a situation that you've always wanted to be in? I know I sound crazy but just think you've wanted to play with Jordan your whole life and all of a sudden you're passing the ball to him. Thats what I'm talking about man! I've had dreams of being a MC and I've fulfilled that dream. I've have dreams of playing and working with some of my favorite people in this business. I've fulfilled that dream too. See at the end of the day progress is not just about moving ahead but setting yourself with reasonable goals and hitting the mark. Peace film at eleven!!!!!!

Is it all worth it!!

Sometimes I ask myself "is it all worth it?" The long nights and short days. The smoke filled clubs and bars. People talking over you while you're trying to perform.
Promoters jerking you for your money. The more I think about it the answer is yes its so worth it. I have had tons of jobs and hated them all. Yeah you have your ups and downs but at the end of the day I answer to nobody. Of course you have to hustle your butt off but you control your everything. "Is it all worth it?" ask youself that and if that answer is yes you've made it!!! film at eleven

Local Love

What is Local Love? Its not complaining about paying to see your local artist. Its not about being questioned about everything you do. Its about support and showing love...I mean c'mon lets be real here. I've been a resident of NC for 12 years now and sometimes people make me wonder. I don't understand how people can be so selfish. Look, I'm a artist this is what I do for a living I give 100% every time you see me perform. So I can,t fathom why a $3 to $5 dollar cover is a problem especially when your tab is gonna be $50 to $100 bucks. Can I go to your job and have whatever I want because i know you?

Relationships

Well we have reach the pinnacle, we have gotten to the word relationship. Whether it be someone you date or have a friendship with that word is very important. Somehow I think people really forgot what that word means these days. A great thing about a positive relationship is that it keeps you positive as a whole, I think people now a days could use a little positivity. Having someone in your corner is one of the best things anybody could have, so remember always make sure you got your homie's back
when the chips are down. That makes a healthy relationship!!!

honorable weekend

A couple of weekends ago I went to the outer banks for a hip hop show and skate weekend with the honorable skate team. It was a weekend filled with pbr and great skating from some of teams finest. There were two contest, the first was a game of skate and the other was best trick. Shouts out to Dan Tuggs and Sammy Buxton for winning the events as well as show great skills as well. Two of my favorite things are skateboarding and hip hop and i hope to see more events like this in the future combining the two. Thanx to Derrick and Jessica for a great weekend and a good time!!!!

ACTION INC update

What up people? Well the time is almost here for the summer release of the ACTION INC
album. The first ever ACTION INC show will be at Red Dogs (Wrightsville Beach, NC) June 10th hosted by Kaze (soul dojo) and will have performances from Mindsone and Bibis Ellison. This is gonna be one of the biggest shows of the summer so please check it out.

nc emcee's

North Carolina Mc's have been around for ages even before I moved here, so why have been sleeping on the lyrical talent we have in the state. We actually have a voice in hip hop right now and no one seems to shout us out. After this year I think a lot if that is gonna change for all of us. With groups like Little Brother and J Cole reaching different ears there's no stopping us and we will be a force to reckoned with. All hail the powder blue mics and the up and coming producers on the rise. For the past few years we've seen the progression with NC hip hop and the buzz its been creating. I feel within the next two or three years NC will finally get the props and love it deserves.

summer time clothing

I was at the beach and once again I was people watching. Now with the weather heating up and less clothing worn you would think people would take notice of their bodies. Granted I'm not exactly Brad Pitt but I'm not shritless with a gut and horrible ink work on my back. There's a difference between Tony Atlas and Tony Soprano so if your body is shaped more like George Costanza instead of George Clooney. Keep that shirt on!!! Ladies I will holla at you tomorrow. off the road

Ok you guys I've been on the road for the past two and a half weeks and now my time is done. I was touring with Mac and had a great time. You know with most tours you have to deal with drama, the bs from clubs and promoters etc. For once everything was very positive for us. Shout out to all the fans ans people who made this tour a sucess. Hope to see you all soon!!!

We here the word legend and we think inspiration a person who made it thru adversity at the highest level. To me that decribes Guru from Gangstarr. I never met him or did a song with him but I was a true fan and followed him thru out the Gangstarr era. Hip hop was never the same for me when I heard the Step in the arena album. I figured these guys would be famous after the world heard their music. Its been over a week since we've heard about his passing and I stll can't believe it. I doubt we will ever hear a voice like that again so if you have a Gangstarr or a Jazz ma tazz album listen and remeber Keith Elam aka Guru.

almost done

What up people. Just letting you know that the action inc album is almost done and we can't wait to drop this long awaited release. Also be on the lookout for monumental music and new single releases. Thanx to all of you that have been supporting and showing mad love. at the lab

At the studio all sorts of things go on. Creativity, drinking, smoking , girls for some but what about just having fun. I meet so many people that let themseleves get so stressed. I think we look at music as more of a work process instead of a fun process, I mean isn't that why we do this. For fun right? Don't get me wrong I'm for putting out good work but if you can't have fun why do it. Create as much as you can when you can but don't let creativity stress you out.

conversations

There should be a law that sends people to jail for not being able to have proper conversations.
Its crazy, you'd think in this day and age people would know how to do this simple form of communication.
You have different types too. First you have what I call the interuptor, this is a person for whatever reason thinks what they say is way more important than you all the time. Second is the close talker, you know that person that feels the need to get in your personal space just to tell you highlights of last nites game. Last but not least the drunk talker, this person is a gem. How many drinks does it take for this person to tell everyone in the club that they love you. This is what we all see when we go out but you gotta love it!!!

new hip hop

I have a question. When did any hip hop between 2000 and 2005 become old school? I think people have gotten it twisted these past few years. Now I'm a true believer of instant classic's but to call that era old school is ridiculous. Lately there has been a new wave of cats that are quick to throw the word old around. To me old school is run dmc, fat boys, and ll cool j. If you are calling mos def, talib, common, roots , slum village, j dilla, or anything dope from that era old school you're sleeping. I know that the kids now are a lot younger these days so here's a tip. Don't ever argue hip hop with a vet because you will get a lesson. Know your history

the club

First of all let's talk about the club. I'm older now so the experience for me is a little strange these days but for others
a different story. What once was fun is now extremely whack. The music, the people, the watered down liquor drinks and the over the top bouncer with the tribal tatoos. Remember back in the day when you could get a drink without the stress of drunk idiots causing so much drama. There should be a cell in the club where people who can't handle their liquor have to sit until closing. Just a thought......

The funny thing about friends is that they always want honesty but never want it when its about them. why is that? Is it me no i think its them.. I mean come on if someone were to tell me something annoying about myself I would thank them because in the long run it benefits me. Maybe its the fact that people can be stupid that they don't wanna be called out on it. I recommend you don't change a thing keep calling out that drunk idiot and that drunk hot girl at the bar who cares. Let her have it too!! Just because people are good looking doesn't mean they're not a jackass. Take these words and go!!! Go tell your friend that they better get in gear or you're out maybe they'll get the message.

long time!!!

What's up people its been a while since I've spoke to you guys. Needless to say I've been on my grind with a few projects for this year. The Action Inc. project is rolling along and Mac and I have just recorded three new songs for the revised Fuzz and Mac album.
